The 2017 Vermont Senior Games Swimming Championships will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 in partnership with the 4th Annual Edge Masters Swim Team April Fools Meet. This Meet will be held at The Edge, 115 Wellness Drive, Williston, VT, 05495. The pool is a 6 lane, 25-yard pool. There is also a smaller, warm pool available for warm-up/cool-down during the meet.
The events included in this swim meet are 50-yard, 100-yard & 200-yard Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle; 500-yard Freestyle; 100-yard, 200-yard, & 400-yard Individual Medley; 200-yard Freestyle Relay; and 200-yard Individual Medley Relay. Swimmers may swim a maximum of 5 events, not counting relays. Swimmers will sign up for the relay events at the Meet.
Anyone at least 50 years old by December 31, 2017 may dual-register for the 2017 Vermont Senior Games Swimming Championships. Non-Vermont residents are eligible to compete; Vermont is an “Open” state.
To dual-register for the 2017 Vermont Senior Games Swimming Championships and the 4th Annual Edge Masters April Fools Meet, you must complete the paper registration form and mail it with payment to: Emily Mitchell, 623 East Hill Road, Richmond, VT, 05477. Make sure that you check the box that you would like to dual-register for the Vermont Senior Games Swimming Championships too. It won’t cost any more money but you must check the box.
The registration fee is $25 for up to 5 individual events for entries received by March 28, 2017. Entries received after March 28th and day-of registrations received before 11:15 am on meet day are $35.Registration Form
Here’s a little information on the Masters Swim Team at the Williston EDGE Club…
The Edge Masters Swim Team is a swimming community open to adults 18 and older who have the endurance to swim at least 300 yards, circle swimming continuously. Team members strive to meet competitive and fitness swimming goals, through varied and vigorous workouts, all while having fun!! Swimmers come from a varied swimming background including, but not limited to: former age-group swimmers, competitive high school and collegiate swimmers, triathletes, and open water marathon swimmers. Although the majority of the members compete in some way throughout the year, there is no pressure to do so.
